Nothing By Chance

Photographing babies makes me sweat buckets. It isn't a very attractive process. You've seen those adorable Anne Geddes-esque photos of sleeping babies dressed up like lady bugs or tiny little blue birds nestled in a feathery nest. But in reality (in a reality where you are not Anne Geddes) photographing tiny, fussy infants might be the biggest chore for a photographer. So you can imagine how much crazier it is when you do a spur of the moment session in your own home, with your own fussy children running around (pooping in their pants...yeah...reality) and a tiny one that is not too keen on me stripping him down to his birthday suit.

More than an hour, I think. That's what it took to get these handful of shots. Lots of crying, bottle-feeding, burping and holding close. After being showered in pee and dodging poop, I got some shots that I am pretty proud of.

Me.

Gia Cooper.

No 'Geddes' to it.
